Why can't I quit you?
Happy Humpday the 13th! And just for you, here is a comic. The first in a while, if you're counting. I have been super busy and stuff, but I need to get good at drawing. I have a big top secret project coming up that involves drawing cartoon characters and I was rusty so I thought the best way to warm up the ol guns was with MONKEYS. So here you are. Maybe more will come soon? You'll have to check back and see!

Get Medieval

This day there was sort of an unofficial contest between the people quoting Monty Python and the people quoting Mel Brooks. I'm always a little disappointed when I see a high comment count and then discover it's a quote-a-thon. Like, "oooh, people are discussing my comic! Maybe I got something wrong and they're correcting me... maybe the punchline sucks... maybe I'm about to find myself on fandom_wank... oh. Nope. They're just reciting scenes from Firefly."

Today I leave Rome for parts unknown where there may not be Internet. So don't hold your breath waiting for the next entry.

Goats: the comic strip
Scenes From A Multiverse by Jon Rosenberg
Scenes From A Multiverse is my new daily science-faction webcomic about what it's like to live in an ordinary multiverse. Each day, Monday through Friday, we'll visit another location somewhere in an ordinary, everyday multiverse and see how folks there live and play. Each Friday, you and your fellow readers get to vote on which of the week's destinations you'd like to revisit the following week in our Multiverse Showdown! Think of it as a webcomic reality show with a smidgen more unreality than reality. Please enjoy the new strip while work continues on the new Goats website and relaunch....

As I was writing Dora's lines in panels 2 and 3, I kept thinking to myself "this is preposterous, if she were actually this strict Faye woulda been fired ages ago." Hence the punchline!

See you Monday.

TwoInOne
Episode 180: San Diego 2010

Erin is back this week, joining Blake to talk about the news from Comic-Con 2010! In the news we've got the Avengers cast, the Chew TV show, the Young Justice cartoon, new Avengers, changes to the Batman family, the return of the Mickey Mouse comic strip, new announcements about a dozen different comics and creators, and more! In the picks, Erin recommends the book Stiff, and Blake loved the second issue of Darkwing Duck. Contact us with comments, suggestions, or anything else at Showcase@comixtreme.com!

Music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network.

Episode 179: Movies, eMail, and Somethin' For the Kids

Blake doesn't quite fly solo this week. Heather joins him for a quick review of the film Despicable Me, and then Blake jumps into your-mails! We also spend a little time talking about the late Harvey Pekar and the much happier news of the Tiny Titans/Little Archie crossover. Then, it's time for a blast from the past! To make up for losing Chase's chatter last week, Blake pulls the second episode from the short-lived 2 in 1 Showcase at the Movies podcast (the separate one, not the movie review mini-episodes we do now) and presents it in the main feed for the first time! So after the current content, sit back and listen as Chase and Blake talk over one of their favorite films, Ghostbusters! Contact us with comments, suggestions, or anything else at Showcase@comixtreme.com!

Music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network.

Episode 178: Predator(s)

Blake sat down this week with a great conversation with Mike "Techno-Dunce" Bellamy and your good buddy Chase Bouzigard about the Predator franchise -- four movies, comics, video games, and all that! Unfortunately, that program seems to be lost due to some sort of technical malfunction that has spent all day making Blake want to kick puppies in frustration. So instead, listen as a deeply apologetic Blake gives you his review of the new Predators film, along with this week's picks -- Chase enjoyed the new novel by Whitley Strieber, The Omega Point (probably), Blake was big on Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1 and Mike dug Action Comics #890 Contact us with comments, suggestions, instructions to repair a corrupted M4A audio file, or anything else at Showcase@comixtreme.com!

Episode 177: Independence Day Rundown

Blake goes it alone with a quick episode for this Independence Day weekend. You get his quick thoughts on Wonder Woman's new costume, the new movie Spider-Man, the creation of Marvel TV, and a review of Scott Sigler's Infected, plus the pick of the week: Ghostbusters: Con-Volutions. Plus, Kenny chimes in via e-mail to give his thoughts on the film The Last Airbender. But that's not all! Blake's been busy lately, and this week he clues you guys in about his recent appearance on the Castle Rock Podcast, his new short story appearing in Flagship magazine from Flying Island Press, and tells you guys how to listen to the audio edition of his novel Other People's Heroes absolutely free. It's the Showcase age of shameless plugs! Contact us with comments, suggestions, or anything else at Showcase@comixtreme.com!

Music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network.

Episode 176: The Heroic Age, Jonah Hex, and Superhero Shorts

The Showcase gang sits down at a bookstore after an eventful day for a chat on recent comic events. The guys discuss the proposed Marvel short films, the DC animated shorts, several recent Heroic Age comics, the wreck that was the Jonah Hex movie, and much more! In the picks, Mike is re-reading Fables Vol. 4 (and using the books to draw in a new comic book reader), Kenny picks Secret Avengers #1 and Blake loved Supergirl #53. Today's Horoscope
Aries (3/21-4/19)
For Saturday, July 31 - Divide your time between deciding what you want to be when you grow up and who you want to be right now with your sweetie. It's never easy, but it's extra-hard for the time being. You have all the energy you need to handle it all, but you still have to dig down to find the answers, which might not come easily. You've still got to give it a shot. While you're at it, take extra care of your heath.

Taurus (4/20-5/20)
For Saturday, July 31 - Talking you out of anything takes energy and time -- so much time, in fact, that bringing along a distraction is a good idea for the arguer. They need to be prepared to watch the paint dry and the grass grow while waiting for your answer. You're proud of that, too -- so when someone close starts making noises that they're going to change your mind, give them a break. Tell them it's not happening -- it's only fair.

Gemini (5/21-6/21)
For Saturday, July 31 - You and someone special have been deliberately not engaging with a certain issue for quite some time now. It's related to monogamy, and you've been dancing around it because you're not exactly sure where you're going yet. Wait for a bit longer and let yourself learn more. Intimacy doesn't happen overnight, of course. Things often work themselves out if you can step back and give them a little room. Now that you're at least sharing time together, anything is possible.

Cancer (6/22-7/22)
For Saturday, July 31 - All your people have been telling you that things should get better if you can just hang tough and keep a positive outlook. The weird thing is that (just this one time) they're right, so you can stop fretting and just forget about the million tiny things that have been keeping you awake every night for far too long. It may also be that a power nap is in order.

Leo (7/23-8/22)
For Saturday, July 31 - Finding ears to hear you out has never been a problem for you, and it certainly isn't right now. You wake up in an shockingly chatty and entertaining mood, ready to knock the socks off of anyone who happens to be nearby and unwilling to run away. It all adds up, too -- who would ever turn down the opportunity to hear you when you're all amped up and flying high?

Virgo (8/23-9/22)
For Saturday, July 31 - You've nearly had it with all the interference, meddling and random comments about what you ought to be doing with your life. You're getting ready to let the right people know -- at high volume. Before you do so, remember that their intentions are probably good, and if so, you don't want to hurt their feelings. You've been accused once or twice of getting a little too involved in others' problems?

Libra (9/23-10/22)
For Saturday, July 31 - Someone close who's been bugging you lately is still pushing your buttons in a big way. They may be pushing them so hard that you're starting to feel a sort of respect for their effort, even if it's just because they've perfected the art and have spent so much time practicing. If you're feeling exhausted, don't give up yet. You're allowed to feel mad at this point. Just give yourself some time off and do whatever you want.

Scorpio (10/23-11/21)
For Saturday, July 31 - You need straight talk -- nothing more and certainly nothing less -- so good luck to anyone who thinks that they can embellish or exaggerate to win you over. You know all about subtlety -- it's more your thing than theirs -- and you definitely know when someone is trying to work you. You recognize the signs right away, and you don't hesitate to offer up helpful tips on how to do it right with their next mark.

Sagittarius (11/22-12/21)
For Saturday, July 31 - Discipline and prudence have never really been at the top of your priority list. You love spontaneity, and you need to keep taking smart risks, so when the chance to do both pops up, you don't look back -- though why would you want to? There's a tough, reliable safety net in place thanks to your good energy, and its designed to protect you from everything but werewolves, unicorns and lawyers.

Capricorn (12/22-1/19)
For Saturday, July 31 - Some folks in your circle are mumbling stuff that basically amounts to fighting words. You'd recognize the sound anywhere, but you're not really intimidated. In fact, you may already be thinking about how to mop up once it's over. You know you're going to win if you're dragged into the argument. You probably even know how exactly how long it should take to completely outfox the competition. Don't feel guilty -- it's not your fault you're better at this than they are!

Aquarius (1/20-2/18)
For Saturday, July 31 - Don't worry about making it through the day, because even if some big problem pops up thanks to mixed-up energies, you're still able to pull out at least one of your own hidden talents to handle it. This natural flexibility comes in handy, especially when you're dealing with relatives or neighbors who seem like more trouble than they're worth. Let them go for now -- they're on their own path, and all you can do is get out of the way.

Pisces (2/19-3/20)
For Saturday, July 31 - You're ordinarily sweet as pie -- mellow, friendly and pretty much willing to do whatever it takes to get along with people. When an underdog gets involved, though, you do whatever it takes to help out, no matter what the cost. When someone in need -- or in trouble -- crosses your path today, warn your people to make way. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
